Yulin University (YLU) is located in the city of Yulin, designated as one of the famous historical and cultural cities in China by the State Council. It features Energy and Chemistry Engineering with the advantage of standing in one of the State-level energy bases - Yulin City. YLU is a public university directly under the Shaanxi Provincial Government, and is entitled to offer both bachelor degree and master degree programs.
YLU grew out of Suide Teachers’ College, established in the year of 1923. In 1980 the college moved from the northern suburbs of Suide City to the western suburbs of Yulin City. In 1991 the college was renamed Yulin College. In 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the college was upgraded to a university. After nearly 100 years of great efforts, YLU is an environmentally beautiful and well-furnished modern institution of higher education. The campus is set amidst picturesque scenery with trees, green grass, running water and fragrant flowers, making it an excellent environment for teaching, learning and living.
With 16 schools, YLU provides a complete range of education programs in social science, natural science, engineering, technology, management, arts, law, agriculture and education, including 52 bachelor programs and 18 master programs. There are 15,047 full-time registered students. The staff totals 1,213, of which 896 belong to the faculty, including 140 professors and 424 associate professors.
YLU is actively engaged in international exchange and cooperation programs, and has built up strong ties with more than 20 higher education institutions in the UK, USA, Russia, Poland, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries. YLU has an ongoing joint undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering with University of Wolverhampton in the UK, and has an ongoing joint undergraduate program in Petroleum Engineering with Northern (Arctic) Federal University in Russia. More than 20 foreign experts from USA, UK, Ireland, Russia, Ukraine, India, Pakistan and Philippine are working at YLU. Since 2006, YLU began to recruit international students, and nearly 300 international students from more than 40 different countries have studied at YLU.
YLU’s strategic plan, through optimizing its disciplinary structures and continuously improving its teaching quality, is to develop into a regional comprehensive application-oriented university. YLU will continue to provide an even more complete range of education programs and train a greater variety of qualified talents not only for the Yulin area but also for the whole of Shaanxi and the other neighboring regions. YLU is building a new campus, which will be the unique Desert Park University in China in the very near future.
Project Introduction
Master Programs
The study duration for international students pursuing a master’s degree is generally 3 years. Within the designated period of study, they are required to complete the training program, pass dissertation review and oral defense, then they can receive graduation and degree certificates.
Admission Criterion
1. The applicant should be non-Chinese citizens with valid foreign passports;
2. Applicants should be at the age between 18 and 35, and should be good in physical and mental health;
3. Applicants should hold Bachelor’s degree or above;
4. Applicants should meet the corresponding language level requirements:
(1) English-taught programs: English proficiency certification;
(2) Native speakers of English can be exempted from the corresponding language proficiency certificate after being recognized by our university.
