Christmas

Thinking  of  you  and  wishing  you  a  beautiful  Christmas  season.

The origin of Christmas

As is known to all, there are many memorable festivals and holidays all over the world.  One of the most significant holidays is Christmas Day.  It is on December 25th every year that Christians all over the world commemorate the birth of Jesus.  It is a grand and national holiday in western countries, which is similar to the Chinese Spring Festival.

Christmas Day is related to Jesus’ birth.  The Virgin Mary became pregnant by the Holy Spirit before she married Joseph.  God sent an angel to appear in Joseph’s dream to tell him what to do. God commanded Joseph to marry Mary instead of abandoning her.  The angel also told Joseph to name the baby Jesus.  Jesus would help the needy and relieve the distressed.  The Roman government ordered citizens to go to Bethlehem to register their residence before Mary was about to give birth to a child. Mary and Joseph had to obey the command.  No sooner did they arrive in Bethlehem that it turned dark. Unfortunately, they didn’t find an accommodation and there was only a stable to stay in.  It was in this stable that Jesus was born. Individuals, later, created Christmas Day to commemorate the birth of Jesus.

Although Christmas Day is a traditional western festival, it is also popular with young, Chinese people.  Many young people spend a romantic time with their lovers on Christmas Eve, and everywhere is filled with the spirit of Christmas.  Christmas is drawing near, and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas

In China, although Christmas isn’t a  traditional festival, everybody still loves Christmas. Christmas is on December 25th.  It's a time to be happy, to visit friends and family and to share with others.

At Christmas time some families buy Christmas bells, which you can hear ringing everywhere. The  New Year is also coming soon. In many countries around the world, it's the most important day of the year.

Most families buy a Christmas tree and place presents under it.  People also put presents in stockings.  Many children believe in Santa Claus. He is a kind man. He wears red clothes and carries a sack on his back that is full of many  presents.

In the days before Christmas, many people will send Christmas cards. On the cards they write a special Christmas wish to family members, friends or classmates.

This year's Christmas is coming soon, so I wish you a Merry Christmas in advance!

Christmas Day

http://ts4.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4535464821261935&pid=15.1In western countries, Christmas is the most important festival of the year. The meaning of Christmas to western people is similar to the Spring Festival of China to Chinese people.  Before Christmas, people decorate    Christmas trees with colorful lights, gifts and candles.  Parents prepare gifts for children.  Children hang stockings next to the fireplace, hoping Santa Claus will fill them with presents.  On Christmas Day, family members and friends exchange gifts with each other.  They may sing, dance, play games, and have dinner together.
